Microdermabrasion

What is Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that uses a mechanical means of exfoliation to remove the outermost layer of dead skin cells from the face and other areas of the body. A device that sprays fine crystals onto the skin or uses a diamond-tipped wand to mechanically "sand" the skin is typically used during the procedure. The procedure is often used to treat acne, acne scarring, age spots, and other forms of hyperpigmentation, as well as to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The procedure can be done in a dermatologist's office or in a spa or clinic, and usually requires no downtime.

Our procedure uses a special applicator with an abrasive surface to gently sand away the thick outer layer of the skin to rejuvenate it.

Microdermabrasion is considered a safe procedure for most skin types and colors. People might choose to get the procedure if they have the following skin concerns:

  • fine lines and wrinkles

  • hyperpigmentation, age spots and brown spots

  • enlarged pores and blackheads

  • acne and acne scars

  • stretch marks & sun damage

  • dull-looking skin complexion

  • uneven skin tone and texture

  • melasma
